Centro is the name of a district belonging to the city of Madrid. The center of Madrid is the oldest district of the city area. The district is bounded with Atocha in the south, with the districts of Arganzuela and Latina; east along the Paseo del Prado and Recoletos, to the north by the district of Chamberí and to the west by the district of Moncloa-Aravaca. The district is divided into six areas; Palacio, Embajadores, Cortes, Justicia, Universidad y Sol. Among its attractions are Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Vía, Plaza de España, Paseo del Prado, Palacio Real, Teatro Real y Banco de España.
